Hosted by Kelmeny Baerg

This fall, RiSE Up is creating a space for women to slow down, connect, reflect, and grow together. We are excited to introduce the WBC Book Club, beginning October 27 at the Nipawin Public Library.

Our first book will be The Gifts of Imperfection by Brené Brown. A thoughtful and encouraging exploration of what it means to let go of who we think we are supposed to be and begin embracing who we truly are.

The book explores themes such as authenticity, self-compassion, courage, belonging, and letting go of perfectionism. Rather than simply reading and discussing a book, we’ll use these ideas as invitations to reflect on our own lives and connect with the women around us.

Why this book?

At the heart of RiSE Up is a desire to support women, build authentic connection, and create opportunities for growth within our community. The Gifts of Imperfection speaks beautifully to those values. It also connects closely with Kelmeny’s work as a life coach through From Pain to Purpose Coaching, where she helps women develop greater awareness, confidence, resilience, and intention in their lives.

I believe some of our most meaningful growth happens when we have a safe place to pause, become curious about ourselves, and discover that we aren’t alone in what we’re experiencing.

This book club is an opportunity to to do exactly that.

You don’t need to have experience with personal growth work, and you don’t have to be comfortable sharing deeply personal things. Come as you are. Read at your own pace, participate as much as you’re comfortable with, and join us for honest conversation, encouragement, and connection.

Our first gathering

At our first meeting, we will hand out books, introduce ourselves, talk about what we hope to get out of the book club series, and agree on how each session will be structured. No reading is needed beforehand.
